Metro Railway Kolkata Apprentice Recruitment: Metro Railway, Kolkata, has officially released the Apprentice Recruitment Notification. Applications are invited for a total of 128 Act Apprentice positions across four technical trades. Interested and eligible candidates can apply online through the official Metro Railway Kolkata website from December 23, 2025, to January 22, 2026.
This recruitment process offers a total of 128 positions across four technical trades, including 82 Fitter positions, 28 Electrician positions, 9 Engineer positions, and 9 Welder (Gas and Electric) positions.
Essential Application Requirements
Eligibility criteria for candidates primarily include educational qualifications. Candidates must have passed the 10th grade with at least 50% marks. An ITI certificate in the relevant trade is also required.
Candidates must be at least 15 years of age and at most 24 years of age as of January 22, 2026. Candidates must have relevant documents ready to prove their age.
How will the selection be conducted?
The merit list will be prepared trade-wise and community-wise. Merit points will be determined based on this formula. In case of a tie-breaker, the candidate with the older age will be given preference, and if the age is equal, the candidate who passed Matriculation first will be ranked higher.
Based on the merit list, candidates will be called for Document Verification (DV) in a 1:50 ratio for the notified vacancies. The final selection will be made based on the verification of original documents, medical certificate, and community certificate.
Application Fee
The application fee for certain categories is non-refundable and must be paid through the online payment gateway provided at the time of application. The fee is ₹100 for General, OBC, and EWS category candidates, while SC, ST, Persons with Disabilities, and women candidates are exempted from this fee.
