Who Can Apply?
Candidates must be Indian citizens.
Candidates must be physically and mentally fit for police service.
A local candidate certificate will be required for posts in the Kalyana Karnataka region. Rules regarding marital status will also apply. Candidates whose eligibility is not permitted under government rules will not be eligible to apply.
What are the educational qualification requirements?
To apply, candidates must have passed the 2nd PUC or an equivalent examination. The following qualifications are also accepted as equivalent:
Class 12 pass from CBSE or ICSE
Class 12 from other state boards
Senior Secondary Certificate from NIOS
One-year vocational or ITI course after SSLC, plus PUC subjects through NIOS
Three-year diploma after SSLC from a recognized institution
Candidates must possess the prescribed qualification by the application deadline. Additionally, they must have studied the Kannada language up to the Class 12 level. Candidates who do not qualify for an exemption must pass a separate Kannada language proficiency test.

The minimum age for all categories is set at 18 years. Ex-servicemen will receive a relaxation of three years in addition to the duration of their military service.
