Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed the Matriculation (10th Grade) examination or possess an equivalent qualification from a recognized board. **Music-Related Qualifications:** Candidates must possess an understanding of music. They should demonstrate proficiency in rhythm (Taal), melody (Sur), and the accuracy required to sing a complete song. Additionally, they must be able to play a musical instrument of either Indian or foreign origin. For this purpose, candidates performing Hindustani or Carnatic classical music on wind instruments must hold an experience certificate from a recognized institution or a reputed organization. 

Candidates performing Western, Notation-based, or National/Western styles on musical instruments must possess a minimum-grade certificate from an international board—such as Trinity College, London; the Royal Schools of Music, London; or similar bodies—specifically for wind instruments. Other candidates are required to submit certificates demonstrating their participation in, or awards received at, various competitions.

**Age:** The candidate must have been born between July 1, 2004, and December 31, 2008. Both dates are inclusive.
