The Indian Air Force (IAF) has initiated the application process for recruitment to the posts of Agniveer Vayu and Group-'Y' Medical Assistant. Interested and eligible candidates can apply online until July 26, 2026. The recruitment examination will be conducted online on September 22 and 23, 2026.
Wing Commander Nancy Maheshwari, Commanding Officer of the Airmen Selection Centre, Jodhpur, stated that both male and female candidates can apply for the Agniveer Vayu posts, whereas the Group-'Y' Medical Assistant posts are reserved exclusively for male Indian and Gorkha (Nepal) citizens.
**Three-year Engineering Diploma or Two-year Vocational Course**
For the Agniveer Vayu post, candidates must be between 16.5 and 21 years of age. A minimum of 50% marks in Class 12, including 50% marks in English, is mandatory. Additionally, candidates who have completed a three-year engineering diploma or a two-year vocational course are also eligible to apply. This recruitment is for a tenure of four years.
**Recruitment Process to be Completed in Three Stages**
For the Group-'Y' Medical Assistant post, the age limit is 16 to 20 years for candidates who have passed Class 12 (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English), and 18 to 23 years for holders of a Diploma, B.Pharma, or B.Sc. in Pharmacy. These candidates also require a minimum of 50% marks overall and 50% marks in English. The recruitment process will be completed in three stages. The first stage will consist of an online written examination. The second stage will involve document verification and a Physical Fitness Test (DV & PFT), comprising a 1.6-kilometer run, push-ups, sit-ups, and squats. A detailed medical examination will be conducted in the final stage.

The application fee has been set at ₹550. Candidates must carry their Aadhaar card to the examination center and upload a recent photograph in accordance with the prescribed standards. Candidates can apply online through the Indian Air Force's official recruitment website until July 26, 2026.
