Power Grid Corporation of India Limited, a public sector 'Maharatna' company, has issued a notification for a large-scale recruitment of Engineer Trainees. A total of 319 positions are to be filled through this recruitment drive.

Power Grid Corporation of India Limited has announced a major recruitment drive for the position of Engineer Trainee. According to the official notice, 319 vacancies will be filled through this process.

Interested candidates can apply online by visiting the official website. The application process commenced on November 3, 2026, at 5:00 PM, and the deadline for submitting applications is 11:59 PM on November 18, 2026.

The 319 vacancies announced by Power Grid are distributed across key engineering disciplines: 250 posts for Electrical Engineers, 48 ​​for Civil Engineers, and 21 for Computer Science Engineers, totaling 319 positions.

To be eligible, candidates must hold a full-time BE, B.Tech, or B.Sc (Engineering) degree in the relevant discipline from a recognized university or institution. A minimum of 60% marks (or an equivalent CGPA) in the degree is required. Additionally, candidates must possess a valid GATE 2026 scorecard.

The maximum age limit for applicants has been set at 28 years. In accordance with government regulations, age relaxation will be provided to reserved categories: 3 years for OBC candidates, 5 years for SC/ST candidates, and 10 to 15 years for candidates with disabilities (PwD).

The application fee for this recruitment is ₹500 for candidates in the General, OBC, and EWS categories. Conversely, SC/ST candidates, persons with disabilities (PwD), ex-servicemen, and departmental candidates are fully exempted from the application fee. The selection process for the position of Engineer Trainee at Power Grid is not based on a single examination but rather on a structured evaluation process. Within this process, GATE scores will carry an 85% weightage, group discussions will account for 3%, and the interview will hold a 12% weightage.

Following these stages, a final merit list will be prepared, and selected candidates will be required to pass a medical examination in accordance with the company's standards. Selected engineers will be offered an attractive pay scale ranging from ₹40,000 to ₹1,40,000, in addition to other allowances.
