**Who Can Apply?**
To become a Professor, it is mandatory for a candidate to hold a Ph.D. degree in the relevant discipline. Additionally, the candidate must have published a substantial number of research papers (at least 10) and possess a total research score of 120. Candidates are required to have a minimum of 10 years of teaching or research experience at a university or college level. Furthermore, prior experience in guiding Ph.D. students is also a mandatory requirement.

For the position of Associate Professor, candidates must hold a Ph.D. degree and have secured at least 55% marks in their Master's degree. Additionally, 8 years of teaching or research experience is mandatory. Candidates must have published at least 7 research papers and possess a total research score of 75.

To become an Assistant Professor, candidates must hold a Master's degree in the relevant discipline with a minimum of 55% marks. In addition to this, it is mandatory to have qualified for the NET, SLET/SET examination, or to hold a Ph.D. degree (exemptions may apply in certain cases).

**Understanding the Selection Process**
The selection for faculty positions at JNU will be conducted in accordance with the UGC Regulations of 2018. Initially, the academic records and experience of the candidates will be scrutinized. In the event of a large volume of applications, only the most qualified and experienced candidates will be shortlisted for further consideration. Subsequently, the candidates will undergo an interview. Selection will be based entirely on performance in the interview. The interview may be conducted either online or offline.

If selected candidates fail to join within the stipulated time, the university may constitute a panel for future reference, thereby providing an opportunity to other candidates in subsequent recruitment drives.

**Application Fee**
Under the JNU Recruitment 2026, candidates applying for faculty positions are required to pay an application fee, which can be submitted exclusively through online modes (Net Banking, Debit/Credit Cards, and UPI). The application fee is ₹2,000 for candidates belonging to the General, OBC, and EWS categories, whereas no fee is applicable for candidates belonging to the SC, ST, PwD (Persons with Disabilities), and Women categories.
