JKSSB Recruitment 2026: There is good news for candidates preparing for government jobs. The Jammu & Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has issued a recruitment notification (Advertisement No. 08/2026) to fill 518 vacancies across various government departments.

**What is the salary?**
Salaries for all posts will be provided according to the respective pay levels. The pay scale ranges from Level-2 (₹19,900–₹63,200) to Level-6 (₹35,800–₹1,13,200).

**Who can apply?**
To apply for this recruitment, candidates must hold a domicile of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir. Candidates must possess a valid domicile certificate issued on or before October 9, 2026. Educational qualifications vary depending on the specific post. For example—

Junior Staff Nurse: Matriculation (10th grade) or higher with Science subjects, plus a General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) diploma.
Junior Pharmacist: 10+2 (Science) with a degree or diploma in Pharmacy.
Health Educator: Graduate with Science subjects.
Junior Lab Assistant: Graduate in Science. Preference will be given to holders of a PG Diploma in a professional lab course.

Age will be calculated as of January 1, 2026.

General (OM): Maximum 40 years.
SC, ST, RBA, ALC/IB, EWS, OBC: Maximum 43 years.
PwD (Divyang) candidates: Maximum 42 years.
Ex-servicemen will receive age relaxation as per rules.

How will the selection take place?
Candidates will be selected based on a written (OMR-based) objective-type examination. The question paper will be in English only, and all questions will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).

Negative marking of 0.25 marks will apply for incorrect answers. Candidates who qualify in the written examination will be called for document verification.

Special facility for PwBD candidates
PwD (Divyang) candidates will be provided the facility of a scribe (writing assistant) as per rules. Eligible candidates will also be granted an additional 20 minutes per hour during the exam. The scribe's educational qualification must be lower than that of the candidate, and they must not be a candidate for the same exam or a relative of the candidate.

What is the application fee?
General Category: ₹600
SC, ST-1, ST-2, EWS, and PwBD: ₹500
The fee can be paid only through online modes. The fee paid is non-refundable.

How to apply?

Once the application process begins, candidates will be able to apply online by visiting the official JKSSB portal.
During the application process, candidates must upload a live photograph, signature, educational certificates, category certificate (if applicable), and other required documents in the prescribed format.
A candidate may apply for more than one post but must also indicate their preference.
There is no need to send a hard copy of the application to the Board's office.
