JKSSB Class 4 Recruitment 2026: This is a great opportunity for young people preparing for competitive exams for government jobs. The Jammu & Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has initiated the recruitment process for various Group IV posts across different departments. A total of 2,863 posts—comprising Class IV (MTS) and Sanitation Worker roles—will be filled under this drive. The online application process begins on October 14, 2026, and the deadline for submission is November 12, 2026. Candidates must apply online via the official JKSSB website.

Of the 2,863 total posts for Class-IV (MTS) and Sanitation Workers, 1,093 posts are for the Jammu Divisional Cadre, 897 for the Kashmir Divisional Cadre, 768 for the District Cadre (across all 20 districts), and 105 for the UT Cadre.

Who can apply?
The educational qualification for this JKSSB recruitment ranges from a minimum of Class 10 pass to a maximum of Class 12 pass. For Sanitation Worker posts, the qualification ranges from a minimum of Class 8 pass to a maximum of Class 12 pass. Candidates must have acquired the prescribed educational qualification by the application deadline. Original certificates must be produced during document verification.

What is the age limit?

The maximum age limit is 40 years for candidates in the Open Merit (OM) category. The maximum age limit is 43 years for SC, ST-1, ST-2, RBA, ALC/IB, EWS, and OBC candidates, and 42 years for the Physically Challenged Person category. Separate age-related provisions are outlined in the notification for Ex-servicemen. There is also a provision for a five-year relaxation in the upper age limit for casual workers, subject to applicable rules. The candidate's age will be calculated as of January 1, 2026.

**Jammu & Kashmir Domicile Mandatory**

Candidates applying for these posts must hold a domicile of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir. Candidates must possess a valid domicile certificate issued by the competent authority by the application deadline, i.e., November 3, 2026.

**What is the application fee?**

The application fee is ₹600 for the General category. For candidates belonging to SC, ST-1, ST-2, EWS, and PwBD categories, the fee is set at ₹500. Payment can be made online via net banking, credit card, or debit card.

**How ​​will the selection take place?**

JKSSB has established distinct selection criteria for UT, Divisional, and District cadres. For the UT cadre, the written examination carries 85 marks, with the remaining 15 marks based on prescribed additional qualifications. The written examination carries 80 marks for the Divisional cadre and 75 marks for the District cadre. There is also a provision for additional marks for the home district in the District cadre.

The written examination will consist of objective-type, multiple-choice questions, and the questions will be in English only.
