Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) has invited applications for the recruitment of apprentices at the Bongaigaon Refinery. A total of 58 positions across three trades/disciplines are available for B.Sc. and diploma holders. Interested candidates can apply online via the NAPS/NATS portal and the mandatory Microsoft Form. **Eligibility Criteria**
Trade Apprentice Attendant Operator (Chemical Plant), Discipline: Chemistry: Candidates require a 3-year B.Sc. degree with Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry (or Industrial Chemistry) as subjects. The training duration is 12 months.
Trade Apprentice (Boiler), Discipline: Mechanical: A 3-year B.Sc. degree with Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry (or Industrial Chemistry) is required for this post. The training period for this post will be 24 months.
Technician Apprentice (Discipline: Instrumentation): Candidates must possess a 3-year diploma in Instrumentation Engineering, Instrumentation & Electronics, Instrumentation & Control Engineering, or Applied Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering. The training duration is 12 months.
Prerequisites for candidates who have previously completed an apprenticeship
If a candidate has already completed an apprenticeship, there must be a gap of at least one year since the completion of the previous apprenticeship. This condition does not apply if the previous apprenticeship contract was terminated due to the employer's fault.
However, for candidates who terminated their contract due to health issues, financial hardship, commuting difficulties, a change in career path, or language barriers, a minimum gap of three months is required. There is no waiting period for female candidates. Such candidates must submit an affidavit in the format of 'Annexure-A' at the time of document verification.
Age limit rules
As of September 30, 2026, the candidate must be between 18 and 24 years of age. The 10th-grade mark sheet or certificate will be accepted as proof of age.

Certificate indicating the date of result declaration (if applicable)

**How will the selection take place?**
There will be no written examination. Selection will be based on merit, determined by the percentage of total marks obtained in the qualification relevant to the trade. The merit list will be prepared in descending order of marks, and priority will be given to candidates undertaking an apprenticeship for the first time. In the event of a tie in marks, the older candidate will be given preference.
Candidates selected based on merit will be called for document verification and a medical examination. An offer of appointment will be made after the documents and medical fitness are found to be in order.
