For Trade Apprentices, Matriculation (10th pass) + 2 years of ITI is mandatory.

For Graduate Apprentice positions, candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in BBA, BA, B.Com, or B.Sc., with a minimum of 50% marks (General category) or 45% (other reserved categories). The minimum age of the candidate should be 18 years, and the maximum age should be 24 years (General/EWS category). Age relaxation will be provided to candidates belonging to reserved categories.

How will the selection be made?
Selection in the IOCL Apprentice recruitment will be based on a merit list. This merit list will be prepared separately for each trade/discipline based on the percentage of marks obtained in the prescribed educational qualification examination.

In case of a tie in merit (equal marks), the older candidate will be given priority. If the date of birth is also the same, the candidate with higher marks in the Matriculation examination will be given preference. Candidates selected in the merit list will be called for document verification and will be required to pass a medical fitness test before appointment. Those candidates who successfully complete both these stages will be issued a final appointment offer for apprenticeship training.
