PM Internship Scheme: The pilot phase of the Pradhan Mantri Internship Scheme (PM Internship Scheme), which is being started to make the youth employable, has started. After the portal opened on October 3, companies started uploading vacancies. As of October 8, more than 13 thousand vacancies have come in the PM Internship Scheme. The maximum vacancies in this have been posted by Jubilant Foodworks, Larsen & Toubro, Mahindra & Mahindra Limited, and Tech Mahindra.
According to the information, most of the vacancies under the PM Internship Scheme are in the banking and financial sector, oil gas and energy, FMCG, manufacturing, and travel and hospitality sectors. Currently, vacancies have been posted for internships in 79 districts of 30 states. The portal to register for PM Internship has been opened not for the youth, but for partner companies.

Top companies will provide information about internship posts from 3 to 10 October. In this, companies will share information on the portal of the PM Internship Scheme. Companies will select youth for internships from 27 October to 7 November. After shortlisting by the companies, the candidate will get the message of an internship offer. Candidates will have to make a decision on the internship offer letter from 8 to 15 November. Candidates will be able to accept or reject the internship offer letter.
Only these people can apply
Only Indian youth can apply for this scheme. In this, the age of the applicant should be 21 to 24 years. The applicant should not be currently in any government job. The selected youth will get a monthly stipend of Rs 5,000 during the internship period. The stipend amount will go directly to the account of the beneficiaries through DBT. The applicant should have passed 10th or 12th, he should have a certificate of recognized ITI or diploma from a polytechnic institute.
The applicant should have a BA, BSc, BBA, BCom or B.Pharma degree from a recognized institute. If the applicant has a qualified educational qualification for the PM Internship Scheme and is enrolled in a course in distance or online education, then he can also apply.
Apart from this, a person whose family income is more than 8 lakhs in the financial year (2023-24) will not be eligible for this. At the same time, any member of any person's family should be a permanent or regular government employee. In this scheme, family means self, parents, and spouse.
Apart from this, students who graduate from IIT, IIM, National Law University, IISER, NID, and IIIT will also not be eligible for this scheme. Students holding CA, CMA, CS, MBBS, BDS, MBA or PG or higher degree, internship under central or state government, Skill Student Training Program will also not be able to apply for this scheme.
