Indian Army SSC (Technical) 2026: Applications Open for 350 Engineering Posts, Last Date Announced

The Indian Army has started the application process for SSC (Technical) 2026, offering a total of 350 posts for engineering graduates. This is a great opportunity for young men and women aspiring to serve the nation as part of the Indian Army.

The online application window began on 7 January 2026 at the official portal joinindianarmy.nic.in. The last date to apply for male candidates is 5 February 2026, while female candidates can submit applications until 4 February 2026. Selected candidates will commence Pre-Commissioning Training at the Officers Training Academy (OTA), Gaya, Bihar, starting October 2026.

Vacancies and Engineering Streams

  • Civil Engineering – 75 posts

  • Computer Science & IT – 60 posts

  • Electrical Engineering – 33 posts

  • Electronics & Communication – 64 posts

  • Mechanical Engineering – 101 posts

  • Ballistics & Laser Technology – 17 posts

Candidates must have an engineering degree in the relevant stream as per the official notification. Only unmarried male and female candidates are eligible to apply.

Eligibility & Selection Process

  • Age Limit: 20–27 years as on 1 October 2026 (born between 1 October 1999 and 31 September 2006)

  • Application Mode: Online only at joinindianarmy.nic.in

  • Selection Process: Application → Shortlisting → SSB Interview → Medical Exam → Merit List → Joining Letter

  • SSB Duration: Five-day SSB between April–June 2026; candidates can select SSB dates and centers in March 2026

  • Training: 49 weeks at PCTA (OTA), Gaya, with a stipend of ₹56,100 per month

Post-Training and Career Benefits

  • Rank on Commissioning: Lieutenant

  • Pay: Approx. ₹17–18 lakh per year (CTC excluding free medical cover and annual hometown travel)

  • Type of Commission: Short Service Commission (SSC) with release options after 5, 10, or 14 years

  • Permanent Commission Option: Eligible after 10 years of service

  • Branches: Engineers Corps, Signals Corps, Electronics & Mechanical Engineers Corps (other branches may also be allocated)
