The Army has issued a recruitment notification for the 68th Short Service Commission (SSC) Technical Women Course. Eligible candidates will be selected for 30 posts under this recruitment drive. Interested candidates can apply online from July 8, 2026, to August 6, 2026. Training for the selected candidates will begin in April 2027 at the Officers Training Academy (OTA) in Gaya, Bihar.
Only unmarried female engineering graduates are eligible to apply for this recruitment. However, female students currently in their final year of engineering are also eligible, provided their final results are declared by April 1, 2027. Additionally, a special entry provision has been made for widows of defense personnel who were martyred in the line of duty, covering both technical and non-technical categories.
Who can apply?
For the SSC (Tech)-68 course, candidates must be between 20 and 27 years of age as of April 1, 2027; this means the candidate must have been born between April 1, 2000, and March 31, 2007. For widows of martyred defense personnel, the maximum age limit is set at 35 years.
Selection Process
The recruitment process will be conducted in several stages. First, applications will be scrutinized, and candidates will be shortlisted. Subsequently, shortlisted candidates will be called for a five-day Services Selection Board (SSB) interview. Candidates who qualify in the SSB round will undergo a medical examination. After the completion of all stages, a final merit list will be released, and joining letters will be issued to the selected candidates.
Physical fitness is also mandatory
For selection into the Army, physical fitness will be just as crucial as academic qualifications. Candidates must complete a 2.4-kilometer run within 13 minutes. Additionally, they must be capable of performing 15 push-ups, 2 pull-ups, and 25 sit-ups. Basic swimming skills are also required to facilitate training activities.
