India Post has released a notification for the recruitment of Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS). Applications have been invited for the posts of Branch Postmaster (BPM), Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM), and Dak Sevak. According to the notification, vacant GDS posts across various offices of the Department of Posts are to be filled. A total of 25,000 vacancies are to be filled through this recruitment drive. Eligible candidates should apply for this recruitment by visiting the official India Post website, indiapost.gov.in.
According to the India Post GDS recruitment notification, the window for one-time registration is open from August 31 to September 19, 2026 (until 5 PM). Online applications and fee payments will be accepted from September 2 to September 21, 2026 (until 5 PM). Additionally, the application correction window will remain open from September 23 to September 24, 2026 (until 5 PM). Candidates wishing to apply should adhere to these deadlines and submit their applications. An application fee of ₹100 is required.
**Salary Details**
Candidates selected as Branch Postmasters (BPM) will receive a monthly salary ranging from ₹12,000 to ₹29,380.
Those selected as Assistant Branch Postmasters (ABPM) will receive between ₹10,000 and ₹24,470.
Dak Sevaks will receive between ₹10,000 and ₹24,470.
Annual TRCA increment: 3%.
Other benefits include Dearness Allowance (DA), GDS Gratuity, and the Service Discharge Benefit Scheme.
Selection for GDS, ABPM, and BPM posts will be based on Class 10 marks; there will be no written examination or interview. A merit list will be prepared based on Class 10 marks. The candidate's age must be between 18 and 40 years. Candidates belonging to reserved categories will be granted age relaxation in accordance with the rules.
