India Post GDS Recruitment 2026: Applications open for over 21,000 posts for 10th pass youth..

There is great news for youths who have passed the 10th standard and are preparing for government jobs. Online applications for the Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) Recruitment 2026 have commenced today. According to the official notification, this recruitment drive aims to fill the positions of Branch Postmaster (BPM), Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM), and Dak Sevak. Applications will be accepted exclusively online.

As per the notification, candidates can complete the One-Time Registration (OTR) process from August 31, 2026, to September 19, 2026 (until 5 PM). The process for submitting online applications and paying the fee will run from September 2 to September 21, 2026. A correction window will also be available on September 23 and 24, 2026, for making any necessary amendments to the applications.

Who can apply?
To apply for this recruitment, candidates must have passed the 10th standard from a recognized board. Additionally, Mathematics and English must have been subjects in their 10th-grade curriculum. Applicants are also required to possess knowledge of the regional language of the area concerned.

Regarding the age limit, the minimum age is set at 18 years and the maximum at 40 years. Reserved categories will receive age relaxation as per the rules.

What is the salary?
Selected BPM candidates will receive a TRCA (Time Related Continuity Allowance) ranging from ₹12,000 to ₹29,380. For ABPM and Dak Sevak posts, the TRCA is fixed between ₹10,000 and ₹24,470. In addition to this, Dearness Allowance (DA) and other allowances will also be provided.

What is the selection process?
A key highlight is that there will be no written examination for the GDS recruitment. Candidates will be selected based on a merit list prepared from the marks obtained in the 10th standard. Shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification.

Application Fee
Candidates belonging to the General, OBC, and EWS categories are required to pay an application fee of ₹100. However, there is no application fee for female, SC, ST, PwBD, and trans-woman candidates.
