Based on the trend over the past five years, GDS recruitment has been announced three times between 2021 and 2025 in January and February. Consequently, it is anticipated that the 2026 GDS vacancy may be announced in late January or early February 2026. However, no official notification has been issued yet.

What are the qualifications required for GDS?
Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed the 10th grade from a recognized board with passing marks in Math and English. They must also have studied their local language up to the 10th grade, possess computer knowledge, and be able to ride a bicycle.

Age Limit: Minimum age 18 years and maximum age 40 years. The upper age limit will be relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST candidates, 3 years for OBCs, and 10 years for PwBDs, as per the rules.

What is the salary?

Candidates selected for the GDS Branch Post Master (BPM) position will receive a salary of ₹12,000 to ₹29,380, and for the Assistant Branch Post Master (ABPM)/Dak Sevak position, they will receive a salary of ₹10,000 to ₹24,470. They will also receive various allowances, which will further increase their monthly salary.
