IIT Madras Placements 2024: This time, more than 1 thousand students got placed in IIT Madras, and students got jobs with a salary of Rs 22 lakh each.

IIT Madras has given information about placement this year. The institute issued a press release and informed that this time more than 1 thousand students have been placed.

Lakhs of youth keep the dream of taking admission to IIT Madras in their eyes and why not, the placement here is very good. IIT Madras has released the data on placements done this year. The institute said in a press release that 90 percent of the B.Tech and dual-degree graduation students have found career opportunities by the time of their convocation. This year too, the institute is gearing up for another successful placement record with more than 2 months left for the 2024 convocation.

1,091 students got jobs in 256 companies

The press release further stated that by April 30, 2024, more than 80% of B.Tech/dual degree students and more than 75% of Master's degree students have been placed. In the first phase and second phase of campus placements for 2023-24, 1,091 students were placed in 256 companies. Moreover, out of 300 pre-placement offers, 235 have been accepted.

44 international job offers

The press release said that a total of 44 international job offers were made by companies from Japan, Europe, and other countries. Additionally, 85 start-ups have made 183 offers during the first and second phases of campus placements. Of the students who have got placements, 43% are in core sectors, followed by 20% in Software, and less than 10% in Analytics/Finance/Consulting and Data Science. The institute said that the proposed average and median salary of students is ₹19.6 lakh and ₹22 lakh respectively.

The director of IIT Madras expressed happiness

Director of IIT Madras, Prof. V.Kamakoti expressed happiness over the placement trends and asked parents of students not to worry about their children's careers in IIT Madras. He further said, “Job or placement is an important path for a career, but we would like more and more of our students to adopt entrepreneurship and provide jobs to others.”
