Indian Bank SO Vacancy 2026: Indian Bank, a prominent Chennai-based public sector bank, has released a notification on its official website for the Specialist Officer recruitment drive for 2026. Under this recruitment campaign, 350 Specialist Officer (SO) positions are to be filled across various levels—including Manager, Senior Manager, and Assistant Manager—in departments such as IT, Credit, Finance, Risk Management, Treasury, Wealth Management, HR, Marketing, Security, Civil Engineering, and Architecture.

**What are the Eligibility Criteria?**
The eligibility criteria for this recruitment vary for different positions. For IT positions, candidates must possess a B.E./B.Tech degree in Computer Science, IT, or ECE; an MCA degree; or a NIELIT ‘B’ Level certification. Conversely, for Credit and Finance positions, professional qualifications such as an MBA (Finance), CA, ICWA, or CFA are mandatory. For the CA position, the candidate must be a member of the ICAI.

For Security positions, candidates must be graduates and possess a minimum of 5 years of service experience at the JCO/Inspector level within the Army, Police, or Paramilitary Forces. Furthermore, for the Civil Engineer position, a minimum of 60% marks in B.E. (Civil) is required, while for the Architect position, a B.Arch degree along with registration with the CoA (Council of Architecture) is mandatory.

**What is the Application Fee?**
Candidates may pay the application fee online using a Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, or UPI. Regarding the fee structure, a nominal amount of ₹175 (covering only the intimation charges) has been prescribed for candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Persons with Disabilities (PwD) categories, whereas the application fee for candidates in the General, OBC, and EWS categories has been set at ₹1000. 

Understanding the Bond Clauses
For candidates selected in this recruitment drive, a probationary period of one year has been stipulated for Scale II and III positions. Furthermore, candidates must serve in the organization for a minimum duration of two years. To this end, candidates are required to execute a bond amounting to ₹2 lakhs for Scale I positions, and ₹3 lakhs for Scale II and III positions. Should any candidate resign from the service before the completion of the two-year tenure, they will be liable to repay the full bond amount, in addition to the salary for the notice period and the training expenses incurred.
