IAF AFCAT 1 2026: The Indian Air Force (IAF) has extended the application deadline for the Air Force Common Admission Test 2026 (AFCAT 1). This is a great opportunity for interested candidates who haven't yet applied. All such candidates can apply by December 19th by visiting the Air Force's official website, afcat.cdac.in. The previous deadline for submitting applications was December 14th, but this has been extended by five days.

The Indian Air Force aims to fill 340 positions in the Flying Branch, Ground Duty Technical Branch, and Ground Duty Non-Technical Branch for this exam. Candidates can apply on or before the new deadline.

IAF AFCAT 2026 Eligibility Criteria: Who can apply?
Candidates applying for the Flying Branch must have passed 12th grade with Math and Physics. They must have a minimum of 50% marks in Math and Physics in Intermediate, and a minimum of 60% marks in a three-year degree course in any subject from a recognized university. Candidates who have completed a BE or BTech degree with 60% marks are also eligible to apply.

Candidates applying for the Ground Duty Technical Branch must have a degree in Aeronautical Engineering (Electronics). They must also have passed 12th grade in the Science stream with 60% marks.

IAF AFCAT 2026 Age Limit: What should be the age limit?
For the Flying Branch, candidates must be between 20 and 24 years old as of January 1, 2027. This means they must have been born between January 2, 2003, and January 1, 2007. The maximum age limit for candidates holding a valid and current Commercial Pilot License issued by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) is 26 years. For Ground Duty (Technical/Non-Technical) branches, candidates must be between 20 and 26 years of age as of January 1, 2027. This means applicants must have been born between January 2, 2001, and January 1, 2007.
