HP Police Constable Recruitment 2026: There is welcome news for candidates preparing for the Police Constable recruitment in Himachal Pradesh. The Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (HPPSC) has decided to grant a one-time relaxation of 5 years in the upper age limit for Home Guard candidates. Additionally, the application deadline has been extended by 15 days.

Applications accepted until September 5, 2026
According to the corrigendum issued by the Commission on August 21, 2026, candidates have been granted extra time to apply following the decision on age relaxation. Interested candidates can now apply online until September 5, 2026 (up to 11:59 PM). The online link will be deactivated after the stipulated time.

Decision based on Home Department order
This decision was taken pursuant to a letter issued by the Home Department of the Himachal Pradesh Government on August 20, 2026. The relaxation applies to the recruitment for Police Constable (Male and Female) posts under Advertisement Numbers 57-7/2026 and 58-7/2026.

Recruitment for a total of 734 posts
A total of 734 Constable vacancies are to be filled through this recruitment drive. Of these, 491 vacancies are for male constables and 243 are for female constables.
