CRPF Assistant Commandant: If you aspire to serve the country in uniform, becoming an Assistant Commandant in the CRPF is an excellent career choice. This position is filled through the CAPF (Central Armed Police Forces) examination conducted by the UPSC. It is a Group 'A' Gazetted Officer post that offers both significant responsibility and prestige.

Educational Qualification and Age Limit

To appear for this examination, it is mandatory for a candidate to hold a graduate degree (Bachelor's) from a recognized university. The prescribed age limit is set between 20 and 25 years. However, age relaxation of 3 years is granted to candidates belonging to the OBC category, and 5 years to those in the SC/ST category.

Selection Process

To become an Assistant Commandant in the CRPF, candidates must successfully clear three distinct stages:

Written Examination

Paper-I: General Ability & Intelligence (250 Marks)
Paper-II: General Studies, Essay & Comprehension (200 Marks)
This examination assesses a candidate's general knowledge, logical reasoning abilities, and writing skills.

Physical Efficiency Test (PET/PST)

After passing the written examination, candidates are required to undergo a physical test, which includes events such as:

Running
Long Jump
Shot Put

Interview/Personality Test

Candidates who successfully clear both the written and physical stages are called in for an interview. During this stage, their personality, decision-making abilities, and leadership skills are evaluated.

What is the Salary?

The starting salary for an Assistant Commandant in the CRPF ranges from approximately ₹54,000 to ₹60,000.
