Training can be taken in French, German, Russian or Chinese languages from here.
These courses range from 6 months to 2 years and their fees can be around Rs 25 thousand to 1 lakh. Apart from this, branches of foreign institutes like Alliance Française (French), Max Mueller Bhavan (German) and Instituto Cervantes (Spanish) also offer courses in India.
If you are selected in IFS (Indian Foreign Service) through UPSC, then you get one year training in Delhi based Foreign Service Institute (FSI). This includes study of international relations, understanding of foreign policy and intensive language training. Not only in India, but many interpreters also get training to work in the United Nations (UN) or European Union (EU) later on.
