If we talk about numbers, then according to the information, big announcements have been made about Agniveers in 7 states. Let us tell you that the governments of Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, Gujarat, and Chhattisgarh had announced reservations yesterday i.e. on 26th July. Earlier on 22nd July, the governments of Haryana and Uttarakhand had also announced reservations for Agniveers.
What is the Agniveer Scheme
First of all, let us tell you that this scheme was launched by the government in 2022. Under this scheme, youth are recruited on contract for four years in the Army, Navy, and Air Force. Six months of training is also included in 4 years. After four years, Agniveers will be rated based on their efficiency. Based on this merit, 25% of Agniveers will be permanently serviced. The rest will come back to the civil world. Let us tell you that in this scheme there is a provision to recruit youth between the age of 17.5 to 21 years as Agniveers.
