The selected candidates of Senior Secondary Recruit are given the responsibility of operating ships, submarines, missile destroyers, sonar and radar etc.

Artificer Apprentice (AA)
Artificer Apprentices get a salary of Rs 14,600 per month during training. After training, they get a salary of Rs 21,700 to Rs 69,100 under the Level-3 pay scale.
Senior Secondary Recruit (SSR)
Senior Secondary Recruit also gets a salary of Rs 14,600 per month during training. Their pay scale is also the same as that of Artificer Apprentice, which ranges from Rs 21,700 to Rs 69,100.
