Jharkhand Home Guard Recruitment 2025: There is good news for young people waiting to become Home Guards in Jharkhand. The official notification for recruitment to a total of 463 Home Guard positions in Chatra district has been released. The application process for this recruitment drive has begun on September 15th, 2025, and interested candidates can apply online until September 30, 2025. The application process is available on the district's official website, chatra.nic.in. An application fee of ₹100 will be charged from all candidates for this recruitment.

According to the notification, this recruitment includes both rural and urban positions. There are a total of 434 vacancies for rural home guard positions, while 29 vacancies have been announced for urban home guard positions (technical and non-technical). A total of 463 posts will be filled in this recruitment drive. Of these, 235 are reserved for men and 228 for women. Both male and female candidates can apply for these positions.

Educational Qualifications and Eligibility

For rural home guard positions, candidates must have passed the seventh grade and be permanent residents of Chatra district. For urban home guard positions, the minimum qualification is a tenth grade (matriculation) pass. Candidates must also be urban general residents.

Age Limit and Physical Standards

For recruitment, candidates must be a minimum of 19 years and a maximum of 40 years as of January 1, 2025. The minimum height requirement for male candidates is 162 centimeters for general, OBC, and BC categories, and 157 centimeters for SC and ST categories. Female candidates must have a minimum height of 148 centimeters. Male candidates must have a chest measurement of 79 centimeters, with a three-centimeter relaxation for reserved categories.

Selection Process and Physical Test

The selection process includes a physical examination, a written examination, and a technical proficiency test for urban technical positions. The physical test will include activities such as running, high jump, long jump, and shot put.

According to the race standard, male candidates must complete a one-mile run in five minutes or less. Completing the race in five to six minutes will result in 10 points, and those taking more than six minutes will be disqualified. Female candidates must complete the one-mile run in eight minutes. Completing the race in eight to ten minutes will result in 10 points.
