Rajasthan Teacher Jobs 2026: To address the shortage of teachers in government schools, colleges, and Sanskrit educational institutions in Rajasthan, guest faculty will be recruited under the 'Vidya Sambal Yojana'. Preparations are underway to engage guest faculty for approximately 76,791 positions across school and college levels. The objective is to prevent students' education from being disrupted due to vacant teaching posts and to involve qualified candidates in teaching activities.

**Who Can Apply**
Under this scheme, guest faculty services will be engaged based on the requirements and identified vacancies in the respective educational institutions. Both private candidates and eligible retired teachers will be able to apply. However, fulfilling the educational qualifications prescribed by the concerned department and institution will be mandatory for appointment to any post.

**Recruitment Grades**
The Vidya Sambal Yojana provides for the engagement of guest faculty at the school level for the following posts: Grade-3 teachers for classes 1 to 8, Senior Teachers for classes 9 and 10, and Lecturers for classes 11 and 12. Additionally, posts such as Instructors and Lab Assistants may also be included.

In higher education institutions, guest faculty arrangements may also be made for positions at the levels of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Professor. The number of posts will be determined based on the vacancies available in the respective college or institution.

**Selection via Merit, Not Written Exam**
No written examination or interview will be conducted for the selection of guest faculty. A merit list will be prepared based on the candidates' educational qualifications and experience. According to available information, 75 percent weightage may be assigned to minimum educational qualifications, while 25 percent weightage may be allocated for academic and professional qualifications combined with experience.

A provision exists to give preference to the older candidate in the event of a tie (candidates securing equal marks). The selection process may be completed under the supervision of the respective head of the institution and the prescribed district-level selection mechanism. 

**Remuneration on an hourly basis**
Guest faculty members will not receive the same salary as regular government teachers; instead, they will be paid an honorarium based on fixed hourly rates. For Grade-3 teachers, instructors, and laboratory assistants, the honorarium is reportedly ₹300 per hour, with a maximum monthly cap of ₹21,000. Senior teachers may receive ₹350 per hour (up to ₹25,000 per month), while lecturers could receive ₹400 per hour (up to ₹30,000 per month).

In higher education, the provisions indicate an honorarium of ₹800 per hour (up to ₹45,000 per month) for Assistant Professors, ₹1,000 per hour (up to ₹52,000 per month) for Associate Professors, and ₹1,200 per hour (up to ₹60,000 per month) for Professors.

**Required qualifications**
Private candidates meeting the qualifications prescribed under the scheme may apply. Additionally, eligible retired teachers will have the opportunity to serve as guest faculty. The maximum age limit for retired teachers is reportedly 65 years.

**Application fee**
There is reportedly no application fee for guest faculty positions under the 'Vidya Sambal Yojana'. This means eligible candidates can apply without paying any fee. The application process will be outlined in the notification issued by the respective educational institution.

**Offline application process**
According to available information, the application process for guest faculty positions may be conducted offline. The respective school, college, or educational institution will announce vacancies based on their requirements and accept applications from candidates.

The start and end dates for applications may vary across institutions. Therefore, candidates should keep a close watch on notifications issued by the relevant government schools, colleges, and the education department in their area.

**Required documents**

Guest faculty may be allowed to serve—based on requirements—until the end of the current academic session or until a regular teacher is appointed to the respective post.

**Guest faculty services to end upon recruitment of regular teachers**
Services may be terminated once a regular teacher is appointed or if the need for guest faculty at the educational institution ceases to exist. There are vacant teaching positions in many government schools and higher education institutions across Rajasthan. Prolonged vacancies adversely affect students' studies, and the syllabi for several subjects often fail to be completed on time.
