This comes as major news for young aspirants preparing for government jobs in Jharkhand. The Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) has released the notification for the Combined Graduate Level Examination 2026, covering posts requiring technical and specialized qualifications. Through this recruitment drive, a total of 615 officials will be appointed. This figure also includes certain backlog vacancies. This opportunity is considered particularly significant for candidates who have been awaiting this announcement for a long time.
This recruitment drive encompasses positions across various government departments. The vacancies to be filled include: 2 posts for Assistant Entomologist; 4 posts for Vector-Borne Disease Control Officer; 42 posts for Vector-Borne Disease Inspector; a combined total of 228 posts for Block Statistical Supervisor and Junior Statistical Assistant; 72 posts for Dairy Technical Officer; 78 posts for Fisheries Supervisor; 145 posts for Auditor; 6 posts for Junior Scientific Assistant; 1 post for Laboratory Assistant (Physics); and 34 posts for Laboratory Assistant (Chemistry).
Eligibility Criteria for Each Post
Specific educational qualifications have been prescribed for each individual post. For the position of Assistant Entomologist, a postgraduate degree in Biology (Entomology) is mandatory. For the posts of Vector-Borne Disease Control Officer and Inspector, a bachelor’s degree in Science is required. For the posts of Block Statistical Supervisor, Junior Statistical Assistant, and Investigator, a bachelor’s degree with Mathematics, Economics, or Statistics as a subject is required.
For the position of Dairy Technical Officer, a bachelor’s degree in Dairy Technology or Dairy Science is mandatory. For the Fisheries Extension Supervisor post, a bachelor’s degree in Fisheries Science or Zoology is required. For the Auditor post, a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Economics, Commerce, or Statistics will be considered valid. Finally, for the position of Junior Scientific Assistant, a bachelor’s or postgraduate degree in Science, Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, or Medical Sciences is required. Additionally, in certain cases, prior laboratory experience is also a requirement. To qualify as a Lab Assistant, candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree with Honors in the relevant subject.
What is the Age Limit?
Regarding the age criteria for applicants, the minimum age limit has been set at 21 years. The maximum age limit is 35 years for candidates belonging to the Unreserved and EWS (Economically Weaker Sections) categories. For candidates belonging to the Extremely Backward Classes and Backward Classes (Male), the upper age limit is 37 years. For female candidates, this limit is 38 years. For male and female candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST), the maximum age limit has been set at 40 years.
How Will the Examination Be Conducted?
The selection process will consist of two stages: a Preliminary Examination and a Main Examination. The Preliminary Examination will comprise a total of 120 questions, for which candidates will be allotted a duration of 2 hours. This examination will include 30 questions on General Studies, 60 questions on Knowledge related to Jharkhand, 10 questions on General Mathematics, 10 questions on General Science, and 10 questions designed to assess Mental Ability.
