**Eligibility: 10th Pass**
Candidates who have passed the 10th-grade examination from a recognized board are eligible to apply for the India Post GDS recruitment 2026. It is mandatory for candidates to have passed Mathematics and English in the 10th grade. Additionally, candidates must have studied the local language of the post or circle they are applying for up to the 10th-grade level.
Applicants must be between 18 and 40 years of age. Candidates belonging to reserved categories will be granted relaxation in the upper age limit as per the rules.

How will candidates be selected?
Candidates will be selected based on a merit list.
The merit list will be generated by the system.
The merit list will be prepared based on marks obtained in Class 10.
If grades or grade points have been awarded instead of marks, they will be converted into marks according to the prescribed procedure.
Subsequently, the marks will be converted into a percentage.
The merit list will be prepared based on the percentage calculated up to four decimal places.
Candidates must complete the registration and application process within the stipulated timeframe.

Is there an application fee?
The application fee for GDS posts is ₹100. However, female candidates, transgender women, Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) candidates are exempted from paying the application fee. Candidates can pay the application fee online using a credit card, debit card, net banking, or UPI.
