TNPSC Group 2 Notification 2025: Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) has released the official notification for Combined Civil Services Examination Group 2 and Group 2A. The notification has been published on the commission's website on 15 July 2025. Under this recruitment process, 50 posts will be recruited in the Group 2 category and 595 posts in the Group 2A category. Interested candidates can apply online till 13 August 2025.
On which day will the exam be held?
The preliminary examination has been scheduled on 28 September 2025 from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm. The commission has also announced the opening of the correction window from 18 to 20 August 2025 for corrections in the application form.
How much will the exam fee be?
The application fee for the TNPSC Group 2 Preliminary Examination has been fixed at Rs 100 if the candidate does not claim any fee exemption. An additional fee of Rs 150 will be charged for the main exam.
However, candidates who are selected for both Group 2 and Group 2A and are not availing of any exemption will have to pay a total of Rs 300. It will be mandatory to pay the fee through online mode.
Educational Qualification
A candidate must have a graduation degree from a recognized university to appear for the TNPSC Group 2 exam. However, some posts may require special educational qualifications, such as a degree in law, commerce, or other technical fields. In such cases, candidates will have to show expertise in the respective subjects.
Age Limit
The minimum age of the candidate is fixed at 18 years, while the maximum age limit may vary according to the post and category. Generally, this limit is up to 32 years, but candidates from Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Backward Class and other reserved categories are provided age relaxation under government rules.
Language Requirements
Knowledge of Tamil language is mandatory for candidates appearing for the TNPSC exam. If a candidate is exempted from the Tamil language requirement, he/she will have to pass the Tamil eligibility test as prescribed during the selection process.
