The Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board (DSSSB) has issued a notification for the recruitment of Safai Karamcharis and Chowkidars. A total of 25 vacancies at the District and Sessions Court in Delhi will be filled through this process, comprising 10 Safai Karamchari posts and 15 Chowkidar posts. Both roles are classified as Group C. The application process begins in October, and candidates can apply online until November 11, 2026. This recruitment is being conducted under notification number 05/2026.

According to the notification issued by DSSSB, a total of 25 temporary vacancies have been announced for the posts of Safai Karamchari and Chowkidar (10 for Safai Karamchari and 15 for Chowkidar) at the District and Sessions Court, Delhi. These vacancies are temporary, and the number of posts may be adjusted based on the department's requirements.

Candidates who have passed the 10th standard can apply

For both the Safai Karamchari and Chowkidar posts, candidates must have passed the 10th standard from a recognized board. The notification does not mandate any prior work experience for these positions. The cut-off date for determining the candidates' educational qualifications is November 11, 2026. Applicants must ensure they meet the prescribed eligibility criteria.

What is the required age limit?

For these DSSSB posts, candidates must be between 18 and 27 years of age. The age calculation will be based on June 1, 2026. Candidates belonging to reserved categories will be granted age relaxation as per the rules. Specifically, a relaxation of 5 years will be given to SC/ST candidates, 3 years to OBC candidates, 10 years to General PwD (Persons with Disabilities) candidates, 15 years to SC/ST PwD candidates, 13 years to OBC PwD candidates, and 3 years to ex-servicemen.

What is the application fee?

The application fee for this recruitment is set at ₹100 for General, OBC, and EWS category candidates. However, female candidates, SC/ST candidates, PwD candidates, and ex-servicemen are exempted from the application fee. Payment must be made online via SBI e-Pay; payments made through other modes will not be accepted. Once paid, the application fee is non-refundable.

How will the selection take place?

Candidates for the DSSSB Safai Karamchari and Chowkidar recruitment will be selected based on an objective examination followed by an interview. The written examination will be held on a Monday, while the interview carries 15 marks. Candidates will generally be allotted 20 minutes for the exam; however, as per the rules for PwD candidates, the duration will be 160 minutes. One mark will be awarded for a correct answer, while 0.25 marks will be deducted for an incorrect answer.
