The Supreme Court of India has announced recruitment for the positions of Assistant Editor, Assistant Director, Senior Court Assistant, and Assistant Librarian. What are the required qualifications?

Different qualifications are set for different positions in the Supreme Court recruitment. To become an Assistant Editor, a candidate must have a law degree from a university recognized by the Bar Council or be a member of the High Court/English Bar. For the post of Assistant Director, a first-class postgraduate degree in Museology with experience in museum technology, Indian antiquities, and publishing is required. For the post of Senior Court Assistant, a candidate must have a postgraduate degree in Museology with a minimum of 55% marks. For the post of Assistant Librarian, a candidate must have a degree in Library Science and a Computer Application Diploma recognized by AICTE/DOEACC.

Age Limit

The age limit for Supreme Court recruitment varies by position. For the posts of Assistant Editor and Assistant Director, candidates must be between 30 and 40 years of age, while the maximum age for Senior Court Assistant is 35 years. For the post of Assistant Librarian, the maximum age is 30 years. Age relaxation is also available for reserved categories as per government rules.

How much will the application fee be?

General and OBC candidates will have to pay an application fee of ₹1,500, while SC, ST, disabled, ex-servicemen, and freedom fighter candidates will have to pay ₹750.

How much will the salary be?

Candidates recruited to the Supreme Court will be offered an attractive salary package. The starting basic pay for an Assistant Editor (Level 12) will be ₹78,800, while the salary for an Assistant Director (Level 11) is ₹67,700. Senior Court Assistants and Assistant Librarians (Level 8) will receive ₹47,600. In addition, various allowances will be provided as per government regulations, further increasing the total in-hand salary.
