The state government has announced massive recruitment for over 19,000 posts across various departments.
Recruitment will take place for 19,062 posts in Madhya Pradesh. The largest share—7,500 posts—is designated for Police Constables. Additionally, exams will be held for several other key positions, including Panchayat Secretary, Village Employment Assistant, Senior Agriculture Extension Officer, Block Panchayat Officer, Sub-Engineer, and Sub-Inspector. A total of 12 recruitment drives will be conducted during this period.
TET Exam for Teachers
Meanwhile, significant news has also emerged concerning approximately 1.50 lakh teachers in Madhya Pradesh. Following a Supreme Court order, the School Education Department has entrusted the responsibility of conducting the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) to the Employees Selection Board. According to the timetable released by the Board, this eligibility test will be held in September and October 2026. The process for accepting online applications from teachers is set to begin soon. With the schedule now released, the long wait for exam dates is expected to end for lakhs of candidates and teachers across the state.
Which teachers are required to take the TET exam?
The Supreme Court has mandated that the TET is compulsory for all teachers instructing classes 1 through 8. Teachers appointed prior to the implementation of the Right to Education (RTE) Act had not taken this exam; they must now prove their eligibility. Consequently, they are required to take the TET. This exam applies to teachers who have more than five years of service remaining before retirement and are currently employed in primary and middle schools.
