SBI PO Recruitment 2026: There is good news for young people preparing for bank jobs. The State Bank of India (SBI) has released a recruitment notification for 1,500 Probationary Officer (PO) posts. Along with this, the online application process has also commenced on June 18, 2026. This is considered a major opportunity for those aspiring to build a career in the banking sector. Graduates from any discipline are eligible to apply for this recruitment. Additionally, final-year students have also been allowed to apply. **Seat Allocation by Category**
A total of 1,500 vacancies will be filled through this recruitment drive. Of these, 588 seats are reserved for the General category. Furthermore, 390 seats are allocated for the OBC category, 234 for SC, 144 for ST, and 144 for the EWS category. Thus, a significant number of opportunities are being provided to candidates across various categories.
**Eligibility Criteria**
Candidates who have graduated from any recognized university are eligible to apply. Students currently in their final year or final semester of study may also apply; however, they will be required to provide proof of degree completion at a later stage. In essence, the opportunity is open to both those who have already completed their studies and those in the final stages of their academic program.
**Age and Fee Details**
Applicants must be between 21 and 30 years of age. The age calculation will be based on April 1, 2026. Age relaxation will be provided to candidates belonging to the OBC, SC, and ST categories. Regarding the application fee, it is set at ₹750 for the General, OBC, and EWS categories. Candidates belonging to the SC, ST, and PwD (Persons with Disabilities) categories are exempt from paying any fee.
**Three-Stage Selection Process**
The selection process for the SBI PO recruitment will consist of three stages.
The Preliminary examination will be conducted first. Subsequently, successful candidates will be called for the Mains examination.
The final stage will consist of a psychometric test, a group exercise, and an interview.
Negative marking will apply to incorrect answers in both the Preliminary and Mains examinations; therefore, caution is as important as preparation.
Salary and Important Dates
Selected candidates will receive an initial basic salary of ₹48,480. Including other benefits and allowances, the annual package could reach approximately ₹21.97 lakh. A service bond of ₹2 lakh must be executed at the time of joining. The deadline for submitting the online application is July 8, 2026. The last date for fee payment and making any modifications to the application form is also set for July 8, 2026.
