The Women and Child Development Corporation (WCDC) of Bihar has launched the Civil Services Incentive Scheme, under which eligible female candidates will receive a one-time incentive of ₹50,000. This amount will be given to all female candidates who pass the 71st preliminary examination of the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC). The aim is to increase and encourage female candidates to apply for the Bihar Public Service Commission. However, this scheme is only for female candidates from the general category and economically weaker sections (EWS). It is administered under the Social Welfare Department of the Bihar government.
How does the Civil Services Incentive Scheme work?
To increase women's participation, the Bihar government has launched the Civil Services Incentive Scheme across Bihar. Under this scheme, eligible female candidates from the General Category and Economically Weaker Section (EWS) will be provided an incentive of ₹50,000. However, this amount will be available only to female candidates who have passed the 71st Preliminary Competitive Examination conducted by the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC). The scheme aims to assist female candidates who have passed the preliminary examination but are unable to appear for further examinations due to financial constraints. Once a candidate is selected in the prelims, the expenses associated with the Main Examination and interview increase significantly. To address this, the Bihar government has launched the Civil Services Incentive Scheme.
