Some good news has emerged for the youth and students of the country. The Central Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, has launched a special and comprehensive internship program for the year 2025. Under this program, students will get the opportunity to work in 452 internship positions. This internship will not only provide practical experience along with studies but can also open doors to a career in the field of sports. This initiative of the Sports Ministry is considered particularly important for students who want to build a future in fields related to sports, administration, science, or policy.

This internship program has been specifically designed keeping in mind college and university students. Through this, students will not only gain theoretical knowledge but also real-world work experience. Selected interns will get the opportunity to learn about sports administration, event management, sports science, anti-doping, athlete support, and the implementation of government schemes. Students will work with experienced officers and experts, giving them the opportunity to closely understand the process of policy making and implementation.

Which institutions will offer opportunities?

Under this internship program, students will be given the opportunity to work with the Central Sports Ministry as well as its major institutions. These include large and prestigious institutions such as the Sports Authority of India (SAI), the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA), and the National Dope Testing Laboratory (NDTL). Here, interns will not only have to work in the office but will also be given field-level training. Students will get the opportunity to work at stadiums, regional centers, and national centers of excellence, and understand the real sports system.

Opportunity to be a part of national sports schemes

The most special aspect of this internship is that selected students will be able to become a part of the country's major sports schemes. Interns will have the opportunity to work directly on schemes such as Khelo India, the Target Olympic Podium Scheme, and the Target Asian Games Group. Through these schemes, interns will gain experience in understanding the responsibilities of managing, monitoring, and coordinating sports programs. This will give them insight into how national-level sports schemes are implemented.

Internships in Over 20 Areas

Under this internship program, students will have the opportunity to work in more than 20 functional areas. These include sports management, administration, sports science, media and communication, IT systems, legal affairs, international sports administration, and anti-doping. In addition, students will receive training related to lab testing, data analysis, and scientific athlete support. This experience will help enhance students' skills and prepare them for the future.

Special Experience at NADA and NDTL

Interns working at the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) will have the opportunity to participate in anti-doping awareness programs, legal regulations, and case-related work. This will help them understand the importance of clean and fair play. Meanwhile, interns selected at the National Dope Testing Laboratory (NDTL) will gain experience in modern lab techniques, sample testing, and research. This is particularly valuable for students who wish to pursue careers in science and research.

Selection Process

The selection process for this internship will be entirely online. Recruitment will be conducted in two phases every year, in January and July. First, the eligibility and required documents of the candidates will be verified. Following this, a merit list will be prepared based on the marks obtained in 10th, 12th, and undergraduate examinations. The final selection will be made according to the rules and guidelines of the respective institution.
