The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has initiated the application process for recruitment to various positions. This recruitment drive aims to fill posts across Group A, Group B, and Group C categories. Interested and eligible candidates can apply online through the official FSSAI website.
FSSAI has stated that this recruitment will be conducted on a deputation and short-term contract basis. The application process began on June 6, 2026, and candidates can submit their applications until June 26, 2026. A total of 15 vacancies will be filled under this drive, including posts for Joint Director, Manager (Information Technology), and Junior Assistant Grade-II.
Qualifications for the Joint Director Post
Officers currently employed by the Central Government, State Governments, Union Territory administrations, government universities, research institutes, public sector undertakings, statutory bodies, or autonomous institutions are eligible to apply for the Joint Director post.
Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution. Additionally, candidates with qualifications in MBA, Law, Food Technology, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Public Health, Life Sciences, Veterinary Science, Agriculture, or related fields may also be eligible. Qualifications for the Manager (IT) Post
For the Manager (IT) post, candidates must possess a degree in B.Tech, M.Tech, MCA, or a subject related to Computer and Information Technology. Furthermore, candidates must meet the service-related conditions specified in the notification.
Opportunities for Junior Assistant Grade-II
For the Junior Assistant Grade-II post, candidates are required to have passed the 12th standard or an equivalent examination from a recognized board. Additionally, preference may be given to candidates with experience in office work, file management, diary and dispatch duties, and computer typing.
Age Limit
According to FSSAI guidelines, the maximum age for candidates applying on a deputation basis must not exceed 56 years as of June 26, 2026.
Selection Process
Selected candidates will be appointed under the terms of deputation or foreign service. Depending on the specific post, the initial tenure of appointment may range from one to three years. The tenure may be extended if required and in accordance with government regulations.
