The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Indore has commenced online applications for the posts of Assistant Professor (Grade 1 and Grade 2). Interested and eligible candidates can apply until 5:00 PM on July 21, 2026. This recruitment will cover various departments and new schools within the institute.

Areas of Recruitment

Candidates working in cutting-edge fields such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Deep Learning (DL), Medical Image Analysis, Computational Multi-omics, Computational Epidemiology, Internet of Medical Things (IoMT), Wearable Healthcare Devices, AI-based Health Monitoring Systems, Bioscience, and Biomedical Engineering are eligible to apply. IIT Indore has invited applications for a total of 54 faculty positions. Of these, 10 posts will be filled through regular recruitment, while 44 posts will be filled under a special recruitment drive.

Age Limit

The maximum age limit for Assistant Professor (Grade II) is 32 years, while the maximum age limit for Assistant Professor (Grade I) is 35 years. Candidates belonging to reserved categories will receive age relaxation in accordance with government regulations.

Qualifications

For most positions, candidates must hold a PhD degree in the relevant subject and possess a strong academic record. For the Assistant Professor (Grade I) post, a minimum of 3 years of experience in teaching, research, or industry is required; however, experience gained during the PhD program will not be counted towards this requirement. For certain positions in the School of Innovation, experienced candidates may apply even without a PhD.

Salary Details

Selected candidates will receive a good salary. The starting salary for Assistant Professor Grade II will be ₹70,900 per month, while Assistant Professor Grade I will receive a starting salary of ₹1,01,500 per month. Additionally, other allowances and benefits will be provided in accordance with the institute’s regulations.

Selection Process

Initially, applications will be scrutinized, and eligible candidates will be shortlisted. Subsequently, they will be called for an interview. The final selection will be based on performance during the interview.
