ED Vacancy: The Central Government has taken a significant step to strengthen the operations of the Enforcement Directorate (ED). The government has approved the creation of over 1,200 new posts within the agency. The Ministry of Finance has also given the green light for the cadre restructuring—a move that had been long awaited. Following this decision, the total staff strength of the ED will rise from 2,029 to 3,256. The stated objective behind this initiative is to make the investigative mechanism faster and more effective.

**Increase in New Posts at the ED**
Under the new framework, the number of several key posts within the ED has been increased. The number of Additional Director posts has risen from 10 to 24. Joint Director posts have gone up from 28 to 49. The count of Deputy Directors has been increased from 148 to 267. Assistant Director posts have now risen from 255 to 531. Meanwhile, the number of Enforcement Officer posts has been increased from 355 to 606. This is expected to enhance the agency's efficiency and capacity, thereby accelerating its operational workflow.

**SSC CGL 2026 Recruitment Process**
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has initiated the recruitment process for the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) 2026 examination. Through this recruitment drive, 12,256 vacancies across various ministries and departments of the Central Government will be filled. The deadline for submitting applications has been set for 11:00 PM on June 22, while the last date for fee payment is June 23. The correction window will remain open from June 29 to July 1. The examination is tentatively scheduled for August–September, and the Tier-2 examination is likely to be held in December.

**Age Limit and Post Details**
Regarding the age limit, candidates aged between 18 and 32 years are eligible to apply for Group B posts, while those aged between 18 and 27 years may apply for Group C posts. Specific age limits may also apply to certain individual posts. For instance, the maximum age limit for the JSO position has been set at 32 years. Candidates belonging to reserved categories will be granted age relaxation in accordance with the rules. Varying pay scales, ranging from Pay Level 8 down to Pay Level 4, have been established for these positions. These include posts such as Auditor, Inspector, Assistant, and Clerk.
