DSSSB Recruitment 2026: Second chance for 2009 applicants; applications reopen for 606 ASO posts

DSSSB Recruitment 2026: The Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board (DSSSB) has once again provided an opportunity for candidates of the 2009 DASS Grade-2 recruitment drive to apply. The Board has opened a special application window for the recruitment of 606 Assistant Section Officer (ASO) Grade-2 posts. This opportunity is exclusively for candidates who had applied under Post Code 90/09 in 2009. To participate in the current recruitment process, these candidates must apply under Post Code 804/26.
DSSSB Issues Notification
According to the notification issued by DSSSB, the application process began on July 17, 2026, and candidates can apply online until August 17, 2026. The Board has clarified that applications will not be accepted after the stipulated deadline, and no extension will be granted. Therefore, eligible candidates are advised to complete the application process in a timely manner. This special recruitment drive has been initiated following the Supreme Court’s order dated February 27, 2026. In accordance with the court’s directives, eligible candidates from the 2009 recruitment drive have been given a fresh opportunity to participate in the current selection process for the 606 Assistant Section Officer posts. However, submitting a new application is mandatory for all eligible candidates.
Who can apply?
Only those candidates who applied under Post Code 90/09 in 2009 are eligible to apply for this recruitment. Candidates must also provide proof of their earlier application during the current application process. For this purpose, any one of the following documents will be accepted: the original 2009 application form, the acknowledgment, the postcard, or the Tier-1 or Tier-2 admit card. The Board has also clarified that if a candidate reaches the maximum age limit for government service (60 years) prior to appointment, they will not be considered eligible for recruitment.
How to Apply Online
To apply, candidates must first visit the official DSSSB online portal at dsssbonline.nic.in.
Next, they must click on the specific application link corresponding to post code 90/09.
Candidates must then complete the verification process by entering their 2009 application number and date of birth.
After verification, candidates must accept the declaration and fill out the application form for Post Code 804/26.
Once all details have been verified and the form submitted, candidates should retain the confirmation page for their records.
The Board has also provided an offline application facility for candidates unable to apply online. Such candidates can fill out the prescribed Annexure Form-1 and submit it, along with the necessary documents, at the DSSSB helpdesk on working days between July 17 and August 17, 2026.
No Application Fee Required
The Board has decided not to charge an application fee to candidates from any category for this special recruitment process. However, candidates who are not already registered on the online application registration system must complete their registration before applying.
