DRDO Recruitment 2026: The Centre for Airborne Systems (CABS) under the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), Bengaluru, has announced recruitment for young researchers. The institute has invited applications from Indian citizens for 10 Junior Research Fellowships (JRF) positions in various engineering disciplines. Candidates with a BE/B.Tech degree and a valid GATE score or an ME/M. Tech degree can participate in the walk-in interview to be held on February 25 and 26, 2026.
Educational Qualification
For this recruitment, the candidate must have a first-class BE/B. A tech degree in the relevant discipline and a valid GATE score are mandatory. Only GATE 2024 and 2025 scores will be accepted. Alternatively, the candidate may also have completed an ME/M.A tech degree in the relevant discipline with first-class marks at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Regarding the age limit, the candidate's age should not exceed 28 years as of December 31, 2025. Age relaxation is applicable for reserved categories – 5 years for Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes and 3 years for Other Backward Classes (Non-Creamy Layer). The candidate must be an Indian citizen.
Selection Process
The selection in this recruitment will be based on a walk-in interview conducted at CABS, Bengaluru. On the day of the interview, the candidates' application forms and all necessary documents will be verified first. Eligible and shortlisted candidates will then be called for a personal interview.
After the interview, a panel will be prepared based on the candidates' merit, which will be used for current and future vacancies. This panel will be valid for one year.
Walk-in Interview Schedule
The walk-in interview at CABS, DRDO, Bengaluru will be held as follows: February 25, 2026, for ECE and Electrical Engineering, and February 26, 2026, for Aeronautical, Mechanical, and Computer Science Engineering. The interview will be held at the Centre for Airborne Systems (CABS), Ministry of Defence, Belur, Yemalur Post Office, Bengaluru-560037. Candidates should report at 8:45 AM, and applications will be accepted only between 9:00 AM and 10:00 AM.
