Delhi HC Jobs: The Delhi High Court has issued a recruitment notification for the Senior Personal Assistant (SPA) and Personal Assistant (PA) examinations. A total of 150 vacancies will be filled through this recruitment process, comprising 117 posts for Senior Personal Assistant and 33 posts for Personal Assistant. Eligible candidates can apply online via the official website, delhihighcourt.nic.in, from September 15 to October 5, 2026.
According to the notification, the application process begins on September 15, with the deadline for submission being October 5, 2026. A correction window for application forms will be available from October 12 to October 14. The date for the recruitment examination has not yet been announced.
**Educational Qualifications**
**Senior Personal Assistant:** Candidates must be graduates from a recognized university. Additionally, they must possess an English shorthand speed of 110 words per minute and an English typing speed of 40 words per minute on a computer. Working knowledge of computers is also mandatory.
**Personal Assistant:** Candidates for this post must also be graduates. They require an English shorthand speed of 100 words per minute and an English typing speed of 40 words per minute on a computer.
**What is the age limit? ****
The minimum age limit for both posts is 18 years, and the maximum is 32 years. Candidates belonging to reserved categories will be granted relaxation in the maximum age limit.
**Stage–I (Qualifying Stage): English Typing Test**
An English typing test lasting 10 minutes will be conducted on a computer. The objective is to assess the candidate's English typing speed, with a minimum requirement of 40 words per minute. The criterion of "Characters with Spaces" will be used to calculate the typing speed. A maximum error rate of 3% of the total typed words will be permissible. Only candidates who qualify in Stage-I (English Typing Test) will be called for the next stage of the examination, i.e., Stage-II (English Shorthand Test).
Stage-II: English Shorthand Test
The shorthand speed will be 110 words per minute. A passage of 550 words will be dictated over a period of 5 minutes.
Total Marks: 120
Candidates will be allowed 45 minutes to type/transcribe the dictated passage on a computer. No additional time will be provided for reading the passage.
Total Time:
Dictation: 5 minutes
Transcription: 45 minutes
An error margin of 5% of the total dictated words will be permissible; that is, a maximum of 27.5 errors.
4 marks will be deducted for a full error, and 2 marks for a half error. A candidate committing 27.5 errors will receive 10 marks. Candidates committing more than 27.5 errors will be declared disqualified.
Each candidate will be given two opportunities to take the shorthand dictation and transcription test, and the better of the two performances will be considered final.
Only candidates who qualify in Stage-II (English Shorthand Test) will be called for the next stage, i.e., Stage-III (Main Descriptive Examination). Stage-III: Main (Descriptive) Examination
Total Marks: 100 marks
Total Duration: 120 minutes
The English Language Main (Descriptive) Examination will comprise the following:
Essay (250 words) – 40 marks
Letter Writing – 15 marks
Grammar & Comprehension Passage – 25 marks
Translation from Hindi to English – 10 marks
Translation from English to Hindi – 10 marks
Minimum Qualifying Marks:
General Category: 50% (i.e., 50 out of 100 marks)
Reserved Category (including PwBD): 45% (i.e., 45 out of 100 marks)
Only those candidates who qualify in Stage-III (Main-Descriptive Examination) will be called for the next stage, i.e., Stage-IV (Interview).
Stage-IV: Interview
The maximum marks for the interview will be 15. No minimum qualifying marks have been prescribed for the interview.
Examination for the Post of Personal Assistant
Eligible candidates will be required to appear for the English Typing Test, English Shorthand Test, Main (Descriptive) Examination, and Interview in accordance with the following examination scheme:
Stage-I (Qualifying Stage): English Typing Test
An English typing test will be conducted on a computer to assess a typing speed of at least 40 words per minute in English.
Stage-II: English Shorthand Test
Total Marks: 110 marks
Total Duration of Dictation: 5 minutes
This will be followed by the Main (Descriptive) Examination in Stage-III.
Stage-III: Main (Descriptive) Examination
The English Language examination will comprise an Essay (250 words – 40 marks), Letter Writing (15 marks), Grammar & Comprehension Passage (25 marks), Translation from Hindi to English (10 marks), and Translation from English to Hindi (10 marks). The minimum qualifying marks for General category candidates will be 50% (i.e., 50 out of 100 marks). For candidates belonging to reserved categories (including PwBD), the minimum qualifying marks will be 45% (i.e., 45 out of 100 marks).
Only candidates who succeed/qualify in Stage III will be called for Stage IV (Interview).
Stage IV: Interview
The maximum marks for the interview will be 15, and no minimum qualifying marks have been prescribed for the interview.
