Deadline Extended for Rajasthan Sanitation Worker Recruitment; Apply by October 13

There is welcome news for candidates preparing for government recruitment as sanitation workers in Rajasthan. The Department of Local Self-Government has extended the application deadline for the 2026 recruitment drive. Interested candidates can now apply online until October 13, 2026; the previous deadline was September 28.

Under this recruitment process, a total of 24,752 contractual sanitation worker positions across 183 Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) in Rajasthan are to be filled. The official advertisement (No. 01/2026) was released on July 27, 2026, and the application process began on August 15.

Who is eligible to apply?

No specific educational qualification has been prescribed for the sanitation worker posts. However, candidates must be residents of Rajasthan. Additionally, they must possess at least one year of experience in sanitation work within an Urban Local Body. The age limit for this recruitment is set between 21 and 40 years, with age calculated as of January 1, 2027. Age relaxation will be provided to reserved categories in accordance with the rules. Candidates will have the option to select only one Urban Local Body of their choice for the recruitment process.

Selection via Lottery

Candidates for the sanitation worker recruitment will be selected through a lottery process rather than a standard written examination. A software-based system developed by the Department of Information Technology and Communication will be utilized for this purpose. Priority will be given to candidates who possess experience in sanitation work within the specific Urban Local Body for which they have applied. The selection process will also include application verification, a medical fitness check, and police verification.

What is the application fee?

The application fees for these posts vary by category. For instance, the fee for the General category is ₹600, while candidates belonging to EWS, OBC, MBC, SC, ST, and PwD categories are required to pay ₹400. Candidates who have already paid the OTR (One Time Registration) fee during a previous recruitment drive in Rajasthan do not need to pay it again.
