CSIR Recruitment 2026: The Council of Scientific & Industrial Research – North East Institute of Science & Technology (CSIR-NEIST), Jorhat (Assam), has invited applications for 9 MTS and 1 Driver position under the CSIR-NEIST Recruitment 2026 drive. This recruitment drive comprises a total of 9 vacancies for the MTS (Multi-Tasking Staff) post, with seats allocated as follows: 4 for the General (UR) category, 1 for EWS, 2 for OBC, 1 for SC, and 1 for ST. Out of these 9 positions, 2 seats are also reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) and 2 seats for Ex-Servicemen. Meanwhile, there is only 1 vacancy for the Driver post, which is reserved for the General (UR) category.
What are the Application Eligibility Criteria?
For the Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) position, candidates are required to have passed at least the 10th standard. Candidates who have passed the 12th standard may receive a slight advantage. For the Driver position, in addition to having passed the 10th standard, candidates must possess valid driving licenses for both LMV (Light Motor Vehicle) and HMV (Heavy Motor Vehicle), and must have a minimum of 3 years of driving experience. Furthermore, candidates should possess basic knowledge regarding vehicle maintenance.
Regarding age limits, the maximum age has been set at 25 years for MTS and 27 years for the Driver position (as of June 4, 2026). Candidates belonging to reserved categories will be eligible for age relaxation as per government rules.
