The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) has issued a notification for recruitment to various posts. A total of 51 positions will be filled through this drive. The recruitment will be carried out on a contractual basis under the ‘Strengthening of Environmental Regulators (SER) – Phase 3’ project for the River Ganga. This project is funded under the ‘Namami Gange’ program of the National Mission for Clean Ganga.

Varying Qualifications for Different Posts

Educational qualification requirements for the CPCB recruitment vary depending on the specific post. Specific qualifications in Environmental Science, Natural Science, or relevant Engineering-Technology fields are required for posts such as Scientist D, Scientist C, and Scientist B. Certain scientific positions also mandate qualifications like GATE or NET-JRF, along with relevant experience. A First-Class Bachelor’s degree in Science (B.Sc.) is required for the Data Entry Operator post, alongside proficiency in computer operations and typing. For the Field Assistant position, candidates must have passed Class 12 in the Science stream with a minimum of 55% marks. Additionally, qualifications such as a Master’s degree in Commerce, CA, or MBA are prescribed for the Assistant Manager (Finance) role. A Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university and computer knowledge are required for the Administrative Assistant post. A First-Class M.Sc. degree is required for the Taxonomist position.

Age Limits by Post

Maximum age limits vary according to the post. The upper age limit is 50 years for Scientist D, 45 years for Scientist C, and 35 years for Scientist B. The maximum age limit is set at 35 years for Assistant Manager, Administrative Assistant, Scientific Assistant, and Taxonomist roles, while it is 32 years for Data Entry Operator and 27 years for Field Assistant. Furthermore, age relaxation will be granted to candidates belonging to reserved categories.

Monthly Salary up to Lakhs

Selected candidates will receive a monthly salary based on their respective posts. The monthly remuneration is ₹1,71,597 for Scientist D, ₹1,48,997 for Scientist C, and ₹1,25,380 for Scientist B. Meanwhile, the monthly salary will be ₹1,19,272 for the Assistant Manager; ₹77,654 for Administrative Assistants and Scientific Assistants; ₹65,031 for Taxonomists; ₹57,498 for Data Entry Operators; and ₹38,741 for Field Assistants.
