**Know the Eligibility Criteria Before Applying**
**Engineering:** candidates must possess a degree in the relevant engineering discipline with a minimum of 60% marks.

**Computer Systems:** It is mandatory for candidates to hold a First Class BE/B.Tech/B.Sc (Engineering) degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or IT, OR a First Class MCA degree.

**Electronics and Telecom:** Candidates must possess a BE/B.Tech/B.Sc (Engineering) degree in the relevant discipline with a minimum of 60% marks.

**Geology:** Candidates must hold an M.Sc or M.Tech degree in Geology, Applied Geology, Geophysics, or Applied Geophysics with a minimum of 60% marks.

**Rajbhasha (Hindi):** Candidates are required to possess an MA in Hindi with a minimum of 60% marks, along with a minimum of 50% marks in their undergraduate degree, having studied both Hindi and English as subjects.

**Company Secretary:** It is mandatory for candidates to hold a graduate degree in any discipline, along with Associate or Fellow membership of the ICSI.

**What is the Age Limit?**
As per the age limit criteria, the maximum age is fixed at 30 years for candidates belonging to the General (UR) and EWS categories, with no age relaxation provided for these groups. However, candidates belonging to the OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) category are granted an age relaxation of 3 years, raising their maximum age limit to 33 years; meanwhile, candidates from the SC/ST categories are granted an age relaxation of 5 years, setting their maximum age limit at 35 years.

**What will be the Exam Pattern?**

This examination will be a 3-hour CBT (Computer-Based Test) comprising two papers (Paper-I and Paper II), each carrying 100 marks, making it a total examination of 200 marks. Paper I will consist of 100 multiple-choice questions covering General Knowledge/Awareness, Reasoning Ability, Numerical Ability, and General English; whereas Paper II will include 100 multiple-choice questions assessing professional knowledge related to the candidate's specific subject discipline.

**Know the Salary and Bond Regulations**
The starting salary for a Management Trainee position at Coal India begins at ₹60,000 per month, with the potential to rise up to ₹1,80,000 (E-1 Grade). In addition to the basic salary, employees are entitled to various benefits such as Dearness Allowance (DA), HRA, Canteen Allowance, Performance Bonus (PRP), leave entitlements, medical facilities, pension, and gratuity.

This position also entails a service bond, meaning that a selected candidate is required to serve for a minimum period of 5 years (60 months). At the time of joining, a bond amounting to ₹3 lakhs must be executed; this amount is recovered through monthly deductions of ₹5,000 from the salary. Upon the successful completion of the full 5-year service tenure, the entire deducted amount is refunded to the employee, interest-free.
