The Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission has released the advertisement for the State Services Examination 2025. This recruitment drive will fill a total of 238 positions across various state services. This year, the highest number of 51 positions is for Naib Tehsildars, affiliated with the Revenue and Disaster Management Department. This is followed by 29 positions for Chief Municipal Officers (Class 'C') and 28 for the State Police Service (Deputy Superintendent of Police).

A review of data from the past decade reveals that the number of positions filled in the State Services Examination has fluctuated. The highest number of vacancies was 352 in 2015, while the number dropped to 171–175 in the COVID-19 pandemic year 2020–21. While the notification for 246 positions was for 2024, this year's recruitment has been extended to 238 positions. This number remains around 200–250, as in previous years, reflecting the continued demand for administrative services in the state.

Age Limit, Reservation, and Other Eligibility
Age Limit (for General Category) — 21 to 30 years as on January 1, 2025
The maximum age for Chhattisgarh residents is 40 years (35 + 5 years relaxation).
Other Reserved Categories — SC/ST/OBC, female candidates, widows/abandoned women, ex-servicemen, and persons with disabilities. Additional age relaxation is applicable as per the rules.

Educational Qualification: Bachelor's degree from a recognized university. You may appear for the Preliminary Examination even if your final year/semester results have not been declared; however, a degree will be required for the Main Examination.

Selection Process
The examination will be conducted in three stages—

1. Preliminary Examination (Screening Test)—two papers: General Studies and Aptitude Test, based on objective criteria.
2. Main Examination—Descriptive Paper, Language (Hindi/English/Chhattisgarhi), Essay, General Studies and Miscellaneous Subjects.
3. Interview/Personality Test—Candidates will be selected based on the written examination + interview, out of a total of 1500 marks.
