There is an update for candidates aspiring to become Assistant Professors in Uttar Pradesh. The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) has recognized several allied subjects for the recruitment of Assistant Professors across 1,936 posts in aided colleges. Following an expert review, certain subjects have—for the first time—been designated as allied to the main subjects, enabling candidates who studied these allied fields to apply for the relevant posts. This benefits candidates who, despite specializing in one subject, possess the eligibility to apply for positions in related disciplines.

**Recognition of Allied Subjects**
Allied subjects have been included in the recruitment notification for Assistant Professors across 330 aided colleges in Uttar Pradesh. Candidates holding a *Nishnat* degree or an *Acharya* degree in Sanskrit from Sampurnanand Sanskrit University are eligible to apply.

In the field of History, Archaeology has been recognized alongside Ancient, Medieval, and Modern History; candidates who have studied Archaeology and Heritage Management can apply for recruitment in Ancient History. Human Sciences has been designated as an allied subject for Asian Culture.

**Opportunities for Students of These Subjects**
Candidates who have studied Social Work (for Sociology), Applied Economics (for Economics), and M.P.Ed./M.P.E. (for Physical Education) are permitted to apply. In Commerce, Accountancy, Business Statistics, and Economic Administration & Financial Management have received recognition.

In Chemistry, Practical, Organic, Inorganic, and Pharmaceutical Chemistry have been recognized as allied subjects for the first time. Fisheries and Life Science have also been included under Zoology.

**Applying for Two Subjects Based on One Course of Study**
This recruitment drive offers some candidates the opportunity to apply for more than one subject. Candidates who have studied Microbiology, Molecular and Human Genetics, Environmental Studies, or Life Science may be eligible for both Botany and Life Science.

Similarly, candidates specializing in Ancient, Medieval, and Modern History or Archaeology can apply for positions in both History and Asian Culture. Candidates in Human Sciences will also be able to apply for Asian Culture alongside their own subject.
