Bihar BSSC Stenographer Recruitment 2025: There's good news for young people looking for government jobs in Bihar. The Bihar Staff Selection Commission (BSSC) has invited applications for the 2025 recruitment of Stenographer/Steno Typist Grade-III positions. A total of 432 positions will be filled through this recruitment process.

Educational Qualifications
Candidates must have a 12th (Intermediate) or equivalent qualification from a recognized board. Proficiency in shorthand, typing, and computer skills in Hindi and English is also required.

Age Limit
The minimum age of a candidate is 18 years, and the maximum age is 37 years. Age will be calculated as of August 1, 2025. Candidates from reserved categories will be given relaxation in the upper age limit.

Exam Details
As more than 40,000 applications have been received for the Bihar Staff Selection Commission (BSSC) Stenographer Recruitment 2025, a preliminary examination will be conducted. If the number of applications is even higher, the examination may be conducted in more than one phase. In the event of multiple phases, the results will be released following the normalization process.

Exam Pattern
As per the exam pattern, the written examination will be objective and multiple-choice. A total of 150 questions will be asked, with 4 marks awarded for each correct answer and 1 mark deducted for each incorrect answer. The duration of the examination will be 2 hours and 15 minutes, and the medium of examination will be Hindi/English. If there is a discrepancy between the Hindi and English question papers, the English paper will be considered valid.

Based on the written examination, candidates equal to five times the number of available vacancies will be selected for the skill test. If candidates score the same number of marks, the candidate with the higher age based on date of birth will be placed higher in the merit list.

Minimum Marks in the Written Examination
The minimum marks for the written examination in this recruitment have been determined category-wise. The qualifying marks are 40 percent for unreserved category candidates, 36.5 percent for backward classes, 34 percent for other backward classes (OBC), 32 percent for Scheduled Castes/Tribes, 32 percent for women, and 32 percent for candidates with disabilities.
