BSSC 2nd Inter Level Vacancy 2025: The Bihar Staff Selection Commission (BSSC) has once again increased the number of vacancies for the Second Inter Level recruitment. Now, instead of the previous 23,175 posts, a total of 24,492 posts will be filled. This adds a total of 1,317 additional vacancies, meaning 1,317 more candidates will get an opportunity.  The last date for application submission has also been extended again. The last date was previously December 15, 2025, but it has now been extended to January 15, 2026. The last date for fee payment is January 13, 2026.

How many vacancies are there for each category?
Out of the total 24,492 posts of the Bihar Staff Selection Commission, 10,753 posts are for the unreserved category. In the reserved category, 3,407 posts are for SC, 231 for ST, 4,185 for Extremely Backward Classes, 2,678 for Backward Classes, 811 for women of Backward Classes, and 2,427 for Economically Weaker Sections.  Additionally, 7,816 posts out of the total 24,492 vacancies will be reserved for women under the 35% reservation quota.

How to apply?
If you haven't applied yet, interested candidates can apply online by visiting www.onlinebssc.com. The examination will be conducted in online mode. Approximately 30 lakh applications have been received so far for this recruitment process. The Bihar Staff Selection Commission had released vacancies for the second inter-level recruitment in 2023 after almost 9 years. The advertisement for the first inter-level examination was released in 2014, and its final result was declared seven years later. Applications for the second inter-level recruitment were accepted until November 2023.

Who can apply?

For these recruitments by the Bihar Staff Selection Commission, the applicant must have passed the 12th (Intermediate) examination. For some posts, typing skills on a computer along with an Intermediate (10+2) qualification are also required. Candidates will be selected based on a preliminary written examination, a main examination, and a skill test where necessary.
 

What will be asked in the exam?
The preliminary examination will be an objective type. It will include questions from General Studies, General Science, Mathematics, and Mental Ability. There will be a total of 150 questions, and one mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer. The duration of the paper will be 2 hours and 15 minutes. The minimum qualifying marks are 40 percent for the general category, 36.5 percent for the backward class, 34 percent for the extremely backward class, and 32 percent for SC/ST. In case the examination is conducted in multiple shifts, the result will be released using the normalization method. Five times the number of vacancies will be selected from the preliminary exam to appear for the main examination.
