Increased Frustration Due to Extended Application Dates
The Bihar Staff Selection Commission has extended the last date for submitting fees for the BSSC Second Inter Level recruitment from January 13, 2026, to January 29, 2026. The last date for complete online application submission has also been extended from January 15, 2026, to January 31, 2026. This recruitment was announced in 2023, and the application deadline has been extended several times since then. According to the commission, approximately 30 lakh applications have been received so far.
Vacancy Details
A total of 24,492 vacancies will be filled under this recruitment drive. Of these, 10,753 posts are unreserved. Additionally, 3,407 posts are reserved for SC, 231 for ST, 4,185 for Extremely Backward Classes, 2,678 for Backward Classes, 811 for Backward Class Women, and 2,427 for Economically Weaker Sections. 35 percent of the total posts, i.e., 7,816 posts, will be reserved for women under horizontal reservation.
Exam Pattern
The preliminary examination will be objective-type, with 150 questions. One mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer. If the examination is conducted in multiple shifts, the results will be declared based on a normalization process.
Eligibility and Selection Process
Candidates must have passed the 12th standard to be eligible. For some posts, computer typing skills are also required. The selection process will include a preliminary examination, a main examination, and a skill test. The examination will be conducted in online mode.
